Who Is Yash Patel?
Yash Patel is a finance analyst from Monroe Township, New Jersey, who became known to reality television viewers through Big Brother 28. He was 24 during the season, which aired in summer 2026 on CBS and was hosted by Julie Chen Moonves. His occupation placed him in the analytical end of the cast: finance analysts work with numbers, forecasts and risk, a background that can suit the calculation-heavy side of Big Brother, where nominations, votes and competition odds change weekly.
On Big Brother, Patel lasted 73 days, outlasting 10 other houseguests before the double eviction. He was one of two houseguests removed on Day 73, alongside Barrett Pfeiffer, and his departure left Melody Morris, Dee Valladares, Drew Campbell, Taylor Brown and Rick Devens as the final five. Morris was evicted next, on Day 77.
Early Life & Background
The published cast record for Yash Patel gives his age, hometown and occupation, but does not publish a detailed account of his family life or schooling, so this profile does not invent those details. Monroe Township, in Middlesex County, New Jersey, is the hometown listed for him in the season cast material. His listed occupation, finance analyst, was the public identity he carried into the Big Brother house.
Patel was not new to televised competition when Big Brother began. He had appeared on The Quiz with Balls in 2025, a game show that tests general knowledge under pressure. That experience gave him at least some familiarity with cameras, studio timing and the public side of competition before he entered a house where filming is constant.
Big Brother 28 Journey
Big Brother 28, subtitled Time Trip, premiered on July 9, 2026, and concluded on October 1, 2026, after 87 days. The season featured the BB Time Capsule twist in Weeks 2 to 7, the return of BB Block Buster, and three nominees each week. Patel navigated that format for more than 10 weeks, surviving early evictions and the mid-season rounds that removed houseguests including Ashley Trail, Jack Seymour, Jason De Puy, Lyric Medeiros, Chuk Anyanwu, Kamuela Kirk, Mallory Aurichio, Haley Thogmartin, La Trice Verrett and Angela Murray.
The Day 73 double eviction was the turning point. Two houseguests left in a single round, Patel and Barrett Pfeiffer, and the remaining five moved toward the endgame. Melody Morris finished fifth on Day 77, Dee Valladares was evicted at the final four on Day 80, Drew Campbell finished third on Day 87, Taylor Brown was runner-up, and Rick Devens won the jury vote 6-1.
Career
Outside reality television, Yash Patel works as a finance analyst. In general, finance analysts examine financial data, build models and help organizations understand performance and risk. It is a detail-focused, office-based profession, quite different from the social and physical demands of a reality competition house, and that contrast was part of his cast profile.
His television career includes The Quiz with Balls in 2025 and Big Brother 28 in 2026. Big Brother was his longest run on television, lasting 73 days, and it remains the defining public result of his reality television career to date.
