Who Is Sevilay Keser?
Sevilay Keser, known as Sev, is a 37-year-old commercial interior designer who competed on season 22 of The Block Australia in 2026. She and her best friend Courtney Kain, from Brisbane in Queensland, were one of five teams renovating beach houses at Mount Eliza on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Block teams rarely bring more expertise than Queensland besties Courtney and Sev: Courtney is a construction site manager and Sev is a commercial interior designer. The pair hoped viewers would root for their story of female friendship and two girls getting it done.
Early Life & Background
Sev built her career as a commercial interior designer in Brisbane, creating functional, stylish spaces for businesses and clients. That professional eye for layout, colour and materials gave her a head start on The Block, where design decisions are judged every week. Once she and Courtney were in, they prepared by thoroughly researching the Mount Eliza area and noting design choices that would suit the beachside location. Sev has said time and money were what threw them off, but their clear division of labour helped: Courtney managed the site while Sev led the design.
The Block 2026 Journey
Sev and Courtney started The Block 2026 as House 4, the Pink team. They won the Guest Bedroom in week 1, the Guest Suite in week 6, the Rumpus and Laundry in week 8, and they scored a perfect 30 for the Kids Bedroom and Re-Do in week 9, making them one of the season’s strongest teams at room reveals. It was impossible to prepare for the intensity of the show, Courtney said, but the pair’s strategy of focusing on their own areas of expertise saved their sanity. Like every team, they also lived in the shared contestants’ house in Mount Eliza, a first for the series. The season’s auctions took place on October 31, 2026, with the finale episode airing on November 1, 2026. Sev and Courtney won The Block 2026. Their House 4 sold at auction for $4,720,000 against a $3,450,000 reserve — a $1,270,000 profit — plus the $100,000 winners’ prize and a $500,000 prize pool, a record $1,870,000 total.
