Who Is Courtney Kain?
Courtney Kain is a 34-year-old commercial construction site manager who competed on season 22 of The Block Australia in 2026. She and her best friend Sev Keser, from Brisbane in Queensland, were one of five teams renovating beach houses at Mount Eliza on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Block teams rarely bring more expertise than Queensland besties Courtney and Sev: Courtney is a construction site manager and Sev is a commercial interior designer. The pair hoped viewers would root for their story of female friendship and two girls getting it done.
Early Life & Background
Courtney built her career as a site manager in commercial construction in Brisbane, running building projects, coordinating trades and keeping jobs on schedule and on budget. That professional background gave her a head start on The Block, where managing trades and timelines is half the battle. Once she and Sev were in, they prepared by thoroughly researching the Mount Eliza area and noting design choices that would suit the beachside location. Courtney has said one strategy saved their sanity: focus on your own area of expertise, with Courtney running the site and Sev leading the design.
The Block 2026 Journey
Courtney and Sev started The Block 2026 as House 4, the Pink team. They won the Guest Bedroom in week 1, the Guest Suite in week 6, the Rumpus and Laundry in week 8, and they scored a perfect 30 for the Kids Bedroom and Re-Do in week 9, making them one of the season’s strongest teams at room reveals. Time and money were what threw them off, Sev said, but their clear division of labour helped: Courtney managed the site while Sev designed, and neither tried to stick her nose in unless it was her area. Like every team, they also lived in the shared contestants’ house in Mount Eliza, a first for the series. The season’s auctions took place on October 31, 2026, with the finale episode airing on November 1, 2026. Courtney and Sev won The Block 2026. Their House 4 sold at auction for $4,720,000 against a $3,450,000 reserve — a $1,270,000 profit — plus the $100,000 winners’ prize and a $500,000 prize pool, a record $1,870,000 total.
