Who Is Dalton Hamby?
Dalton Hamby is a videographer from Jacksonville, Alabama, who is competing on The Amazing Race season 39 with Daisha Wilks, 28, a fellow videographer from Flat Rock, Alabama. The couple met after both graduated from Jacksonville State University, and they work together in video production, including through Dalton’s company Dhamby Productions.
Dalton and Daisha were introduced when the season’s cast was announced in 2026 as a dating couple, and they have remained in contention through the early legs of a race that sends 13 teams across five continents. Their shared eye for detail, their comfort with cameras and their ability to stay creative under pressure have all helped them on a show where communication is everything.
Early Life & Background
Dalton Hamby is from the Jacksonville area of Calhoun County, Alabama, and he graduated from Gadsden State Community College in 2020 before going on to Jacksonville State University, where he met Daisha Wilks. After graduating, the pair built both a relationship and a working partnership in video production.
Before the race, Dalton was not a television personality. Like many Amazing Race contestants, he came to the show through his everyday life and his relationship, and his profile has grown episode by episode as viewers have followed the Alabama couple around the world.
Career/Journey
Dalton Hamby works as a professional videographer and is the co-owner of Dhamby Productions, the video company he runs with Daisha. That background — shooting, editing, planning shoots, solving problems on location — transfers directly to The Amazing Race, where teams must read a clue, plan a route and execute it under time pressure.
The Amazing Race 39 premiered on CBS on September 30, 2026, hosted by Phil Keoghan, and airs on Wednesday nights at 9:30 p.m. Eastern, with episode seven, “The Amazing Nightmare,” airing on November 4, 2026. Dalton and Daisha were still racing after the Leg 6 non-elimination, keeping the Alabama couple in the hunt for the $1 million prize.
Their journey is also a relationship story. Dating couples on The Amazing Race are tested in public, under stress and far from home, and the strongest among them tend to be the pairs who communicate clearly and recover quickly from mistakes. For Dalton and Daisha, that test has become one of the season’s most relatable storylines.
