Ava Toulson Age, Biography, Partner & Facts

Ava Toulson brought Geordie energy to Love Island Australia Season 8 and wasted no time making an impact. The 24-year-old traffic controller, who swapped Newcastle in the United Kingdom for life in Perth, entered the villa after the first coupling and immediately changed the shape of the season. Her decision on Day 2, when she chose Keanu and left Amanda single, was one of the first real twists of 2026, and it made her a name viewers wanted to look up straight away.

Who Is Ava Toulson?

Ava Toulson is a 24-year-old traffic controller from Perth who joined Love Island Australia Season 8 in 2026. She is originally from Newcastle in the north-east of England, and her Geordie accent and sense of humour are central to how she comes across on screen. Ava is described in official Nine material as fun, loud and full of energy, and as someone looking for a man who can make her laugh and keep up with her pace. She arrived in the villa just after the original couples had formed, which gave her a rare advantage: instead of waiting to be paired up, she could pick a partner for herself. She used it, choosing Keanu and reshaping the early villa dynamics in a single move. She links here to fellow islander Amanda Boue, whose Day 1 coupling was changed by Ava’s arrival.

Early Life & Background

Ava grew up in Newcastle, UK, before moving to Australia and settling in Perth, where she now lives and works. Published profiles do not give a detailed family or schooling history, so this biography sticks to what is verified: her Geordie roots, her move to Western Australia, and her work as a traffic controller. The move itself says something about her character. Swapping a familiar home city for sunshine on the other side of the world takes confidence, and that same willingness to take a chance is visible in how she played her first days in the villa.

Love Island Australia 2026 Journey

Ava entered the villa on Day 1, after the initial coupling ceremony, and was given the power to steal a partner on Day 2. She chose Keanu, who had originally been coupled with Amanda. The move left Amanda single and made Ava one of the season’s first headline-makers. It was a bold start, and it set the tone for her time in the villa: she was not there to blend in. In the early episodes she remained in the villa with Keanu, as the other couples began to settle.

Career

Ava works as a traffic controller, a role that involves managing road traffic around worksites and keeping drivers, workers and pedestrians safe. It is a practical, outdoor, high-responsibility job, quite different from the office and service roles held by several of her fellow islanders. The contrast is part of her appeal: a confident, funny Geordie who spends her working days directing traffic and her villa days directing conversations.
