Who Is Saran Dunmore?
Saran Dunmore is a Chicago personal trainer and founder of Kids Leading Kids who joined The Amazing Race season 39 with her sister Dafina Dunmore, 52, a bond analyst and DJ. The sisters were introduced as one of 13 teams chasing the $1 million prize, beginning at Jack Poole Plaza in Vancouver, where every team received an Express Pass at the starting line in a first-ever twist for the series.
As a personal trainer, Saran works with people to build strength, stamina and confidence, and as the founder of Kids Leading Kids she works to help young people lead and grow. That background gave her a natural role on the race: the steady, encouraging partner who could keep the team moving through long days and tough tasks.
Their race, however, ended in Leg 5. After surviving the first four legs, Saran and Dafina were eliminated in 9th place, becoming the fifth team to leave the season. It was the longest run of any eliminated team in the season’s first five legs, and it left the sisters just short of the later stages of the race.
Early Life & Background
Saran Dunmore is from Chicago, Illinois, where she and Dafina were both based when the season was cast. Growing up as sisters gave them a shared family history and a shorthand that only siblings have: they know how the other reacts to stress, how to lift each other up and when to give each other space.
Before the race, Saran was not a television personality. She built her career as a personal trainer and as the founder of Kids Leading Kids, work that rewards patience, communication and a positive, practical outlook. Those qualities were part of the sisters’ story on the show: experienced, fun and determined, rather than reckless or flashy.
Career/Journey
Saran Dunmore works as a personal trainer and founder of Kids Leading Kids in Chicago, and her sister Dafina Dunmore works as a bond analyst and DJ. Together, they entered The Amazing Race 39 as a sister team, and they began the season with the same advantage as every other team: an Express Pass handed out at the starting line in Vancouver.
The pair survived Leg 1 in Vancouver, where the race included a Roadblock at BC Place and a Pit Stop at VanDusen Botanical Garden, and they survived Legs 2, 3 and 4 as well. In Leg 5, however, they finished last and were eliminated in 9th place, ending their season as the fifth team to leave the race.
The Amazing Race 39 premiered on CBS on September 30, 2026, hosted by Phil Keoghan, and episode seven, “The Amazing Nightmare,” aired on November 4, 2026. Although Saran’s journey ended in Leg 5, being cast among only 13 teams remains a notable credit, and the sisters’ run helped shape the season’s opening weeks as the field narrowed toward the final.
