Who Is Ryan Macri?
Ryan Macri is a 27-year-old garden centre manager from New South Wales who entered Big Brother Australia Season 17 on 26 October 2026 alongside his sister Tahlia. Proudly Australian-Italian, he describes himself as chaotic and larger than life – a chatterbox who calls everyone “darl”, has served customers in a wig, and idolises singer Susan Boyle. Beneath the comedy is a resilient streak: he has weathered significant family loss and says he meets life with laughter, loyalty and love.
Early Life & Background
Ryan grew up in an Australian-Italian family and credits his Nonna for his warmth. He is openly gay and says making strangers feel like family is his defining trait – which made hiding a real family member in the house both easy and excruciating.
Big Brother Australia 2026 Journey
Entered Day 1 with a secret mission: keep his sibling relationship with Tahlia hidden. On Day 3 the housemates guessed the wrong pair, so Ryan and Tahlia won immunity from the first eviction and together appointed Matty as the first Head Housemate. Ryan received no nomination points on Day 5.

Ryan manages a garden centre in New South Wales, where his theatrical customer service – wigs, nicknames and all – is part of the job’s fun.
