Quick Facts

Who Is Harry Benton-Symonds?

Harry Benton-Symonds is a 30-year-old from Croydon, London, who took part in Big Brother UK 2026, the twenty-third series of the British Big Brother, which aired on ITV2 from September 13 to November 5, 2026. He was one of fifteen housemates who entered the house on launch night. Like most civilian housemates, Benton-Symonds arrived with no prior television profile, and the public got to know him through the series itself, where he was a steady presence for six weeks before his eviction in the House of Time week.

Benton-Symonds’ most memorable storyline came in the House of Time, when the housemates drew numbered tokens to decide the order they entered the Time Zone, where they had three minutes to make their nominations and could swap nominees on the podiums. He was the second housemate to enter, after Philip Regan, and he swapped Samuel Keen and Twinks Burnett for Philip Regan and Rochelle Rackham. It was a bold move that put two of the strongest housemates up for eviction, and it shaped the rest of that week’s nominations, even though later swaps changed the final four. He had earlier been given a laminate by Big Brother in the House of Nothing week, when he was told that all the housemates had to get into positions relating to knives, forks and spoons when a noise sounded, in order to win back the cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment.

Early Life & Background

Harry Benton-Symonds is from Croydon, London, England, and was 30 years old when he entered the Big Brother house on September 13, 2026. No verified details of his date of birth, education, occupation or family life were published by ITV or in the series’ official coverage, so this profile does not state them. He applied through the open casting process, which had opened on November 14, 2025 and ran until August 1, 2026, and was selected as one of the fifteen original housemates for a series ITV described as reimagined as a house of surprises, with unexpected twists and game-changing moments around every corner.

The series was the fourth civilian series to air on ITV2 since ITV regained the rights to the format, and it ran for 54 days, the longest series on ITV and the longest since the eighteenth series on Channel 5 in 2017. Benton-Symonds spent 41 of those days in the house, and his time there included the Dreamland and Nightmare Room shopping task, the pairs week, the House of Nothing week, the BB Express train task and the House of Time, so he experienced a wide range of the series’ twists before leaving.

Harry Benton-Symonds’s Big Brother Journey

Benton-Symonds’ journey began on Day 2, when the housemates played Getting to Know You in teams. He was a member of the Green Team, alongside Catrin Richards, Frankie Carter, Johanne Cade, Philip Regan, Rob Stirzaker, Samuel Keen, Twinks Burnett and Yasmin, and the team went to the terrace while the Red Team, who won the game, was awarded cocktails in the snug. In the pairs week, the House of Double Trouble, the housemates competed in pairs in games including Peas in a Pod, in which they dressed in pea pod costumes and landed peas on each other’s bodies, Jedward’s Jepic Pairs and a blindfolded cup-stamping game, and in the Noah’s Ark shopping task, in which the pairs took on animal roles and completed tasks around the house. Benton-Symonds was part of that week of competition, in which Johanne Cade and Samuel Keen topped the leaderboard with 17 points and won immunity from the first nominations.

In the House of Nothing week, when all the furniture, food and appliances were removed from the house, Benton-Symonds was part of the group, along with Philip Regan, Rob Stirzaker and Samuel Keen, who chose Omar El Mayer to lose his right to nominate. On Day 15, he was called to the Diary Room and was given a laminate by Big Brother. He was told that all the housemates had to get into various positions relating to knives, forks and spoons when a noise sounded, and that if they were successful, they would win back the remaining cutlery, as well as crockery and cooking equipment. The housemates were later gathered and told that they had to select two housemates to count the contents of various food jars, and if they were successful they would win back the remaining food from the storeroom. They chose Lynx Noumey and Samuel Keen.

The House of Time gave Benton-Symonds his biggest moment. On Day 37, the housemates were each asked to choose a token numbered 1 to 11, which determined the order they entered the Time Zone, where they had three minutes to make their nominations and decide whether to change the nominations on the podium. The first housemate to enter had to nominate four housemates for eviction and place them on the podiums, with the housemates who entered after them nominating two housemates and able to swap two nominees from the podiums, except for themselves. Philip Regan was first and nominated Catrin Richards, Harry Benton-Symonds, Samuel Keen and Twinks Burnett. Harry was next and swapped Samuel and Twinks for Philip and Rochelle Rackham. Samuel entered next and swapped Harry and Catrin for Rhianna Collins and Omar El Mayer. Catrin and Twinks retained the nominations, Lynx swapped Omar for Twinks, Yasmin swapped Philip and Rochelle for Samuel and Harry, Omar swapped Rhianna for Catrin, and Frankie, Rochelle and Rhianna retained the nominations. After each housemate had entered, the final four housemates left up for eviction were Catrin Richards, Harry Benton-Symonds, Samuel Keen and Twinks Burnett. On Day 41, October 24, 2026, Benton-Symonds became the sixth housemate to be evicted. The series concluded on November 5, 2026, when Rochelle Rackham won and the 100,000 pound prize, with Twinks Burnett second and Yasmin third.
