He made his professional wrestling debut on October 25, 1997, on the independent circuit, where he spent years honing the style that would later make him famous.

Career

Punk joined Ring of Honor in 2002, where he won the ROH World Championship and was later inducted into the ROH Hall of Fame in 2022. He signed with WWE in 2005 and went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship three times, the ECW Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, the WWE Championship twice in his first run, and the World Tag Team Championship once. He is also the only wrestler to win the Money in the Bank ladder match in back-to-back years, in 2008 and 2009.

After leaving WWE in 2014, Punk wrestled in All Elite Wrestling, where he became a two-time AEW World Champion before being dismissed in September 2023. He returned to WWE two months later and has since added two more World Heavyweight Championship reigns and another WWE Championship reign. Outside wrestling, he also competed in mixed martial arts, losing to Mickey Gall at UFC 203 in 2016 and to Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in 2018, a result later overturned to a no contest.
